DragonSlayer Ministries visits Creation Museum in Ky.
July 27-07

The visit to Answers in Genesis' new museum was a wonderful time for my family and I. After a nice 5 hours of driving tacked on to the end of a full work day we pulled over to rest at a hotel just south of Cincinnati. The rest was needed but the smell of a thousand sweaty little leaguers drinking strawberry soda and eating Now&Laters was not needed. In fact the smell of that hotel will be dreadfully etched in the minds of my two young children for the remainder of their lives.
The day of our visit however began with the voice of my lovely wife as she gently rubbed my arm and informed my sleeping soul of the fact we were now behind schedule. I think her words were "Wake up were late!". After leaving in a modest pace we drove straight into a down pour with our recently acquired flat tire. A can of  "Fix-a-Flat" and we were back on our way. Our way however was to test this can of $6.00 glue in a traffic jam caused by an accident.
All was well soon. When we were able to find a hotel with a "fun dome" and theme suites we were nearly there.
As we drove into the gates adorned with matte black dinosaurs I was shocked to see that this was no ordinary museum. I had expected to see a small parking lot scarcely populated with dirty little  economy cars. The lot however was huge and filled with cars, trucks, buses, motor homes, etc. there was a healthy staff of friendly men with badges to help you park. And a huge line that pointed the way to the main entrance.

Once inside I was pleased to see a very nice earthy architecture. The walls of the museum as you enter are like the walls of a cave or cliff made of rock. The line was long but the people were actually quite polite. Everyone noticed that there was a genuine sense of patience and gratefulness to even be in this place. Later I would learn that there was nearly 4000 people in attendance that day.
As you enter you see a seen derived from man's earliest days on Earth. To your right the Noah's Cafe. Didn't get to eat there but I hope it has nothing to due with food Noah might have had on the ark.
Once you start your trek into the main hall you will see a room with a large replica of a dig site. This room contains a cast of the famous fossilized monkey known as Lucy. Sorry about the amature photography. It is clear that the camera man however has more to work with than the people who studied this skeleton. I cut off the lower portion by mistake but either way I don't see how you can determine were this thing is a monkey a human or anything in between. Looks cool though.
Soon after this you move into a room that is full of  renderings of ancient men of the Bible. It was about this time when I was frustrated by a young college age guy who apparently wanted to have an audience. He was standing behind me and sharing his lack of knowledge with everyone. From what I heard him saying I believe he was there possibly on assignment from an Atheist professor at a nearby college or perhaps he had too much "Youtube theology". I could go on about this poor misinformed guy but I won't. Later I will lay rest to his arguments but that is for another day.
By the time my mind regained normal thought we were in the Noah's ark exhibit. Lots of animatronic preflood sinners helping build the ark. The area was filled with placards telling what we know about the technology of the time and place of the historical event. Really cool to look at how such boat may have actually been built. I loved the scale models of Noah's ark and the computer generated image showing how the ark may have been designed to self steer for a safer more comfortable time aboard.
My favorite place in the museum was the Garden of Eden. We saw a scale diorama of the animals and Adam in the Garden. We saw the real Eve, I think. We even saw some cool dinosaurs and an awesome rendering of the Ancient Serpent
(You know who).

The story of Adam and his family is exhibited in grand scale. The story of original sin and the first murder are shown in a way that helps ones mind to finally grasp those ancient days in a tasteful and fulfilling memory.
The planetarium is worth the additional $5 bucks. Ever consider what it would be like too travel across space from galaxy to galaxy and look back at our solar system?  Reminds me of Psalm 8:3-4 when the Psalmist asks God how He can care about us when the heavens are so grand. My paraphrase.
The bookstore is a real book store too. This is not a place for making money off cheap hokey junk with religious nonsense on it. This place is for true study and learning. Books and DVD's line the walls. the book store is styled as a medieval knight's chamber. Quite suitable to DragonSlayer ministries.
In all I believe that the museum accurately teaches us about the book of Genesis rather than creation alone. There is much more that I couldn't see or enjoy as I know I would.
With over three thousand people present and my two young children I was not able to give this museum the time it deserves. The hard work and skill that was dedicated to this museum truly show through. This is no second rate  "churchy" Christian  museum that stretches the truth to prove a point. The Answers team have been working for years to show us that modern scientific findings only support a belief in the Bible. They will tell you as I will that there is no God rock. There is nothing that we can dig up that will say God exists. But to openly look at the science of today with out preconceived notions or bias will lead anyone to agree that the claims of the Bible are the most logical of all even with out faith. As I've heard many times
                        "All Truth is God's Truth."
